My <a href="http://www.magellangps.com/en/products/product.asp?PRODID=1" rel="nofollow">Meridian</a> does all that and more. I can bring it along to the meetup if anyone wants to play.

(Hope I got that html right, I need a preview. And why exactly do I need javascript to publish a simple comment?)

does it do turn by turn directions?

I've long dreamed of setting something up that does turn by turn directions. most of what I have found is too bulky and cumbersom to be used while drving...

If I could find a turn by turn method that would even output to a simple 2 line charater LCD displaying street name direction to turn and distance til turn or left I would be quite happy. The other hard part would be getting input to the system.
